Augmented Synesthesia
So I'm near my apartment in Zamalek, just taking a walk. Run into these two girls that I'm apparently friends with. They show me this new funky app they've coded (or downloaded, don't remember, but I think in the dream they'd coded it). It's quite cool - basically, when you ran it and held the phone while any music was playing from any source, it would cast colored notes in the air, extending from the music source and to the phone. Like it turned the phone into a music magnet that showed the music flying through the air. It also (I have no idea how this function is related) allowed you to use the phone to shrink things.
Anyway, they show me the app. I'm suitably impressed. Then I leave them and go back towards my building. I notice that it's not quite in tip-top shape. I find the porter, who in the dream is a teenager (in real life, he's an adult). I take him across the street, where (in the dream) there's a new fancy-ass hair salon, that for some reason, lists all its structural features on a poster hanging in the shop window. I show him the list ask him to compare it with the features of our building. He checks off most of the list and then says we could update our entire building with LED lights instead of the regular ones. So we walk back to the building while he tells me that it would cost around 90,000 Egyptian Pounds to do so, and because we have 30 apartments in the building (maybe we do, I have no clue), it would cost each apartment around 300 EGP (it wouldn't, it would cost 3,000 but hey...dream). So I say that's fine, I'm sure I can help him get 300 Pounds from each apartment. I then ask if he's got some printed material I can show him, and he says he does and that he'll bring it to me later.
I walk back into the street and run into the girls again. They're playing with the app, and so do I. While we're doing this, a plain-clothed cop (who's usually positioned at a nearby embassy) approaches us and asks what we're doing with the app. I brush him off, and then after he leaves, I address the girls telling them we could use the shrinking functionality of their app to rob a bank, shrinking to a tiny size to get in, then shrinking the money bags and escaping, etc...
As I do this, I think - hey, this is kind of like Ant-Man.
Then I wake up.

Don't Art for free
I really want to address the phenomenon of people asking artists to work for free on commercial projects. You have to understand that not all artists can afford to work for free, and whereas it may…
