Saudi F'Ing Arabia
In 2002, when a fire erupted at a girl's school in Mecca, members of the 'Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice,' otherwise known in Saudi Arabia as the 'mutawiyin' stopped Civil Defense workers from going into the building to help the girls escape the fire. Not only that but they are said to have locked the gates and prevented the girls from escaping the fire, all because they were more worried about maintaining 'piety' than they were about saving the lives of the girls inside the school.
Now jump back to 2019, MBC TV, owned by Saudi Arabia, produces a TV series called 'Black Crows.' It's incredibly badly produced, badly written, badly art-directed, badly acted, and badly directed - but...more importantly...
In Episode 22 of Season 1, they have a scene where, after the ISIS camp has been bombed, supposedly by the 'good' Muslims, we see some ISIS members refusing to let women in the camp escape the fire, preferring that they remain inside to be burned in the flames than leave their chambers because they're not properly clothed to be seen in public.
Yeah.
I'd comment on this, but I think you've got the picture.
Long live 'moderate' Saudi Wahhabism.

Don't Art for free
